About Us

In late 2006, Paula's mother and brother, Lois and Peter Bohovesky, had just finished fighting off the first potential parole approval for the two murderers on their own and decided they needed help to ensure the petition process was far-reaching and everlasting.  Gathering petitions was a tiresome task but they were driven and dedicated to keeping the two in jail.

Lois reached out to the father of a classmate of Paula, John Murphy, (a community leader and a  Rockland County Legislator) to get his help with objecting every two-years when the parole hearing process ensued.  John quickly agreed and soon began to coordinate his network of friends & community volunteers to help spread the word and collect the signatures needed to keep the murderers in prison.  For Life.

Soon after the two were again denied parole in the 2007 parole hearings, the Petition For Paula group was formalized and incorporated as a non-profit in 2008.   This website was then created to gather online petition signatures and to serve as a repository and vehicle to distribute information about the petition efforts.  The Petition for Paula board is a working board made up of local "givers" that are unpaid and tireless in the pursuits on behalf of the cause.
